Richard Weberberger, 46, drafted the concept for Building Venture. Richard was Associate Director at LaSalle Investment Management in London, one of the leading investment-houses in global real estate both in private equity and publicly listed equities. His work experience in capital markets included equities-analysis in pan-European real estate at HSBC Investment Bank in London as well as capital raising in the field of Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) for SAM Sustainable Asset Management in Zurich, the leader in sustainability investments. Earlier activities include voluntary work for Amnesty International as well as published projects as Architect and Urban Designer.
Since the inception of Building Venture Investment Consulting GmbH in Germany and Austria in 2005, Richard held management positions with leading European and US investment houses, managing well over EUR 2 billion. Richard Weberberger holds a Master of Engineering in Architecture with honours from Vienna University of Technology. As a Fulbright Scholar Mr Weberberger received a Master of Design Studies with a specialisation in Real Estate and Urban Development from Harvard University where he concentrated in Finance and Capital Markets and where he founded the Harvard Real Estate Development Club. Richard is a founding board member of Urban Land Institute (ULI) Central and Eastern Europe, a founding member of the Austrian Society of Sustainable Real Estate to mention some of his commitments in the real estate arena.
